The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF. The B.Voc. programme is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs alongwith broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.

B.Voc Retail Management was established in AY 2014-15. Course is run under National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) & SPPU, Pune. The course is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Pune. The department refers to skill based practical & theoretical knowledge in the field of commerce. Eligibility for this course is 10+2 or its equivalent.

Department has well established computer labs with practical oriented softwares.

B.Voc. Retail Management is a bachelor level course. The duration of this course is 3-years long and its syllabus is divided into 6-semesters. In this course of study in the field of retailing, that involves principles of retailing and retail operations. This course includes retail supply chain management, accounting, retail customer service, quality, store location and management, marketing and computer technology, etc. It is a career presenting in nature and provides many job opportunities for the candidates after its successful completion. It covers the study of different parts of a retail operation.
