Vocational Department

About the Vocational Courses

Along with traditional education, the college also imparts job-oriented Vocational Education to the students. The college introduced the Vocationalisation of education long back in 2014 even before the introduction of NEP 2020. We avail vocational education in most current trends such as Automobile Technology and Film Arts. The Vocational Courses (B. Voc. & M. Voc.) are introduced under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and sponsored by UGC. All Vocational Courses are approved by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The students who complete Vocational Courses are awarded degrees/Certificates from the affiliating university and have national-level recognition. The main objective of the Vocational Courses is to impart vocational training to the students and equip them for job -opportunities in the industrial sectors. The Vocational courses are introduced considering the local and industrial needs. The syllabus of the vocational courses is designed by the faculty in the concerned department as per the guidelines of UGC and NSQF. The vocational courses also intend to develop the entrepreneurial skills of the students and to motivate them for start-up and self-employment. The vocational courses have the facility for multiple entry and exit as per the needs/convenience of the students. The college facilitates Short-Term Certificate courses as well as Three Year Integrated Degree courses in vocational training. As the Vocational Courses are designed considering the local/industrial needs they assure substantial job -opportunities.

    Certificate Course in Event Management (UGC Sponsored)

    The certificate course in Event Management -is funded by UGC(Received seed money of Rs.7 Lakhs ). It was started in the year 2012-13. The intake capacity of the course is 30 students. The course structure comprises 3 theory papers and 1 practical paper (preparation of project report). Two batches successfully completed the course. 41 students successfully completed the course

    Eligibility – XII thStd (Any Stream)

    Duration – Six Months

    Standard of Passing – 40 marks in each subject.

    Employment Opportunities – Own Event Mgt agency, Event Marketing, Program Organizer in Hotels & Hospitality Industry, Dancing, Anchoring, Decorator, Stage Show, Banqueting Manager etc.

    Business Correspondence Training : The Department has organized a training program on Business Correspondent & Business Facilitator collaboration with Friends Infotech, Nashik. 21 students were participated in the program. It was 1 month course. Followed by a written examination. The participants were awarded certificate of completion on behalf of the government of India. Our college extended all necessary infrastructural facility for the conduction of program.

    Other Activities

    • The department arranges industrial visit for practical & Project Report preparation.
    • The department organizes seminars for undergraduate and post gradual students.
    • The department organizes quest lectures for UG & PG students.
    • The department motivates to undertake and organize various events for event management students.
    • The department has counseling / study center of M.B.A. of Y.C.M.O.U. University.
    • Our faculty members providing guidance on preparation for professional courses like ICWA, CA, CS, MBA, LAW, Banking recruitment exam and other competitive exam.

    The department has conducted COMMERCE QUIZ for under graduate student. 300 student participated in the Quiz Prize winner are

    Following activities will be conducted through the department in future

    • To arrange guest lecturers of eminent persons relating to commerce, management, finance, Banking Accounts, taxation through commerce association.
    • To undertake minor, major Research Projects of UGC through faculty members.
    • To interact in placement activities through the industries in Nashik Industrial Area.
    • To arrange group discussion of PG students on current issues related to Commerce and Management.
    • To establish Research Centre in Commerce.
