Equal Opportunity Cell

Introduction:

An Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of our college is a cell which works towards ensuring equal opportunities for all the students, faculties, regardless of their gender, religion, caste or other economic or social backgrounds. The main objective of cell is to encourage and shield the diversity along with the inclusion in the institution or organization also to prevent discrimination against any group or faculty or students.

EOCs may conduct various activities and initiatives such as awareness and training programs for students, organizing various workshops and seminars to prepare the members of the college towards issues related to discrimination and inequality as well as unfairness or harassment.

Objectives:

  • 1. To recognize the importance of promoting diversity and inclusivity on our campus, and are committed to implementing policies and practices that ensure all students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed irrespective of faculty / students.
  • 2. To promote equity and inclusivity by taking efforts to raise cognizance and foster understanding among the stakeholders.
  • 3. To create an enabling environment for all members, we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
  • 4. To ensure that, all the policies and guidelines are to be implemented time to time given by UGC and Ministry of Higher Education.
  • Vision:

  • 1. Emphasizing on developing a well – rounded personality and a diverse skill set to increase their chances of employability.
  • 2. Coordinating with other statutory and non-statutory bodies like Board of Students Welfare, Placement Cell, Students Service Centre, Student Development Cell, Competitive Exam Cell etc.
  • 3. Offering individualized counselling and skilled guidance for career development.

    The following were the members of the Equal Opportunity Cell [EOC] as per the rules and regulations given by UGC and Government of Maharashtra. The Equal Opportunity cell will work under the Supervision of the Principal and engage in the working of various activities towards faculty and students.

    The members and duties of the committee will be to ensure that the decisions are based solely on qualification, merit and ability to work without any favouritism towards gender, caste, religion, age etc.

    Functioning

    The Equal Opportunity Cell [EOC] plays an indispensable role in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals within an institution. By promoting them an equal opportunities and diversity, it also helps to develop a culture of respect and acceptance, which benefits not only the individuals but also to the institution as a whole.
