YCMOU

Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray Arts, Science and Commerce College facilitates Open and Distant Learning through the study centre of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. The concept of Open and Distant learning is for the group of people who due to some reasons cannot offer regular education and therefore, are deprived of education. YCMOU was established in Nashik by the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Act No. 20/1989 on 1 st . July 1989. The University is recognized by UGC under section 12B.

The Motto of YCMOU is "Dnyana Ganga Gharoghari" (the flow of knowledge at every home). The college contributes significantly to the dissemination of knowledge through the center of YCMOU. The Programs /Degrees offered by YCMOU are treated as equivalent to the degree Programs of regular Universities.

  • The following Programs are conducted in our study center (5406A)
  • 1) B.A. / B.Com :- Three Years Degree Course
    It is equivalent to any degree of a recognized university in the state and the central Government.
    Eligibility: - Completion of H.S.C. or any state Board Higher Secondary Certificate
    examination or CBSE or ICSE Board.

    2) M. B. A. :- Two Years Program
    Eligibility: Graduate of any recognized University of the state or the Central Government.
    Minimum Marks: 50% for Open category and 45% marks for the reserve category. (The student must pass the entrance examination conducted by Y.C.M.O.U. in the month of July or after the declaration of the degree examination in B.A./B.Com./B.Sc., Agriculture, Health Science etc. )

    Role and function of study centre:
  • 1) The study centre as an extension work provides academic support to the distance learner.
  • 2) The study centre functions as an administrative, organizational unit of the YCMOU.
  • 3) A key link between the students and the university centre. Study Centre
