Celebration of the Golden Jubilee Year of the College Academic Year 2021-22
The academic year 2021-22 has been a special year in the history of the College as the college has reached the 50 th year of its establishment. It has been one of the achievements of the college. The college was established in 1971 by the Visionary Educationist, Late Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray under the aegis of the Parent Institute- Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir (MGV). The Motto of the institute is Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhay(Welfare of the Masses). The college was developed by the Promoter of the institute Late Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray. The college has been trading on the path of comprehensive social welfare laid down by the Founder Fathers of the Institute.
The college has had a number of remarkable achievements at its credit during the last fifty years. These achievements are in terms of awards and recognition as well as in terms of Infrastructural Development, Quality Enhancement, Research Output, and Community Engagement services. The reaccreditation of the college with A- Grade by NAAC and the Best College Award of Savitribai Phule Pune University are the highlights of this achievement. For the celebration of the Golden Jubilee year the college had achalked-out Action -Plan. On this occasion, the college organized a webinar series on the different aspects of the life-work of Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiraywith the intention to review them in a fresh light. There were Webinar series on Intellectual Property Rights, Research Methodology, National Education Policy 2020, and Quality Enhancement. Along with the webinar series the college also organized International and National Conferences in almost all disciplines.
To enhance Experiential Learning the college established National / International linkages and collaborations and organized Industrial Expert Talks. The college also took initiatives for job- oriented vocational education and initiated Add-on and Value – added certificate courses. The college has a Skill Development Centre accredited with A -grade by NSDC. The college has taken concrete initiatives for the development of R& D culture and started 12 Research Centers in different disciplines. The college has also contributed substantially to Women’s Empowerment through a number of women-centric programs. Thus, the Action Plan for the Golden Jubilee Year added to the glorious tradition of the college.
