Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray Arts, Science and Commerce College is one of the leading colleges in Nashik providing quality education to the masses. The college has been established by my grandfather Late. Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray in the year 1971 with the noble motto “Bahujan Hitay Bahujan Sukhaay. The college is currently functioning smoothly under the visionary guidance of my father Shri. Prashantdada Hiray, General Secretary of the parent institution Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir. Since its inception the college is imparting quality education considering the changes taking place in the education field at global level. Today the college has adopted ICT based teaching-learning that has become the need of the hour for knowledge enhancement.
The college is marching successfully in academic, cultural and sports field. It is not only ensuring the academic development of the students but also providing them with opportunities to survive and sustain in the competitive world by undertaking research, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Moreover, in the field of sports the college has recently made a name for itself. Our sportsmen are representing us on International and National level. The college provides infrastructure and healthy academic surrounding to attain Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the fields of Arts, Science and Commerce. It is also running Vocational courses considering the interest of the students. It is has been taking number of specific initiatives to address locational advantages. It is performing in various areas distinctive to its vision, priority and thrust. Our NCC and NSS unit is considered as one of the best units in SPPU affiliated colleges. The college has Five Research Centres approved by SPPU. Considering the continuous excellent efforts in academics the college has received “Best College Award” from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The college has acquired NAAC ‘A’ grade in 2014. It has several achievements to its credit in the form of awards, schemes, and grades. Efforts to inculcate discipline amongst students, establishing systematic mechanism of performance assessment of the students and teachers as well, promoting research, initiating consultancy services and patenting, arranging alumni/ industry-academia meetings, undertaking activities to conserve energy, protect environment, increase allegiance to the society at large to achieving better quality of life are some of the hallmark features of the college. The college is standing straight to face all the challenges in coming time in the field of education.
